The B-17 "Fortress on the Plains" sculpture looks interesting, however there doesn't appear to be enough wing span.

My only regret is that I didn't take the nose frame piece from the MGM lot when I had the chance.

That way I'd have something to donate to the restoration.

Even though that very same item is what's on the aircraft now, it would have been a way for me to forever be connected to the Swoose.

Although I did climb into every B-17 at Dothan, at one time or another, I never took any pictures of the cockpits.

I find it interesting that no one has commented on the props of the four 1820s on 44-85813 being Curtiss instead of Ham-Standards.

From some drawings that I've seen the remote controlled belly turret was (basically) the same as the upper turret, only it was turned upside down for installation. And, instead of clear segmented plexiglas panels it had metal plates.
