Re: Another N1203 Movie Sighting + A Bonus!

Hi Scott, The reference for the filming off Santa Catalina is the Wikipedia reference for the film. And, of course, since it's on the Internet, it must be true! Actually, it makes a lot of sense and there are indeed a couple of scenes in the film where you can see an island in the background - perha...

Another N1203 Movie Sighting + A Bonus!

I was recording a few TCM favorites on Memorial Day along with one I'd never seen. It's a forgettable Kirk Douglas film called, "The Hook." I'll let you, the reader, IMDB this 1963, Korean War myopic but, suffice it to say, the highlight is the appearance onscreen of Paul Mantz's B-25 camera-ship al...

Re: Air force

Casandra,

I would suggest a visit to: www.Military.com. Click on the tab at the top entitled, "Join The Military." It appears to have some good suggestions/advice regarding approaching a recruiter. Best wishes.

TXTABBY,

I could not get the link you provided to open. Scott is correct - it most definitely was the aforementioned Beechcraft which was used in IAMMMMW and flown by Frank Tallman.

Chill out. Their server appears to be down. Quote from another forum: "Basically, the entire WRG is having problems. So the host company locked the site because "it makes the server busy." Scott and crew are working to resolve the problem. And no, there wasn't a mass banning, that's just an error pa...

The brave and the few are appreciative! I've always wondered about the former Hughes B-25C. Seeing as how the fuselage is so heavily butchered, I wonder if the wing center section is a more viable candidate for mating with something like, oh, say the B-25B fuselage held by Aero Traders? Ah, if only ...

And, finally, it should be noted that the stocks of that fine B-17 book Final Cut are drawing down, and the 1st revised edition will soon follow the path of the original edition... ...how about a 2nd revised edition, say, to bring the book up to date and move it from the dawn of the new century (20...

Scott, I just finished reading part one of your excellent article on Mantz, Tallman, and the Movieland of the Air Museum. I started taking flying lessons in 1976 at an FBO just up the street from Movieland and for the life of me, can't figure out why I never visited the museum before it ceased opera...

Here's a couple of scanned images from the film. The second highlights the 'process shot' discussed above.

This forum and website are not attracting a whole lot of attention... Is a Tallmantz dedicated area on this site worthwhile? Scott, While the community that visits your site may indeed be "small" by whatever standards one wishes to apply, I would imagine we tend to be dedicated. Whereas the WIX sit...

Scott, The sub-website on Tallmantz sounds great! I'm looking forward to that. Please make a post here when the Fly Past article on "MOTA" comes to print. I don't subscribe but would like to go purchase that issue. Funny - I started flying with Sunrise Aviation at SNA when they were located very nea...

Scott,

Thank you for that update and confirmation. Did your research give any indication as to the location of the billboard? Also...might there be a book on Mantz and/or Tallman in the offing and where do I order my advance copy?

Cheers!
