It could be the lighting on the right side.
Either way, in the report it clealy mentions ship F-176 so presumption it is field code.

I often wonder since a lot of the Bolivan B-17's crashed in inaccessable and inhosbitable terrain just how much wreckage might be recoverable - of course being 8,00 + feet AGL might be a bit rought to haul out.
