Re: Which Dorsal Turret is this?

I think "Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby" at the Air Force Museum has bronze green interior also.

Casting aluminum

I am looking into doing an aluminum casting project when the weather warms up here in Ohio. At this point, the parts I am looking into making are non-structural, non-load bearing, however you want to put it. I have done some research and found it is possible to do at home without breaking the bank. ...

The Urbana team got a complete set. I think they will sell copies. You might try Randy Kemp at the Champaign Aviation Museum

Re: Ball turret for sale

Not sure on the pins. The scan gets too grainy and the actual pic in the magazine is maybe an inch and a hlf wide, too small to see.

I have heard that possibly Don Brokks got this and tucked it away. Can anyone back that up by chance?

Ball turret for sale

The other night I remembered something I saw in an issue of Military Vehicles Magazine (October 2005; issue #111) a number of years back. There was an ad in the classified section for a Sperry A-13A ball turret. Location given was Kansas City. Anybody know where this turret came from and where it wo...

Pilot`s control panel

I saw a couple other threads out there on this but thought i`d start fresh. I have an original face plate, instruments, and switches for the pilot`s control panel, but no box. I am also missing most of the stamped placards that labeled the switches. I tried NASM, but they are moving and drawing serv...

Photo help

Does anybody happen to have any photos of B-17F-90-BO 42-30151? She served with the 381st group, 532nd squadron with the code VE-J and was nicknamed "Spare Parts". Any photos would be great, especially nose art. Unfortunatley, my photo collection is not that big. Thanks all,

Re: B-17 "ash reciever"

On the control column too? I have never seen photos of that before. I`ll have to keep my eyes peeled for that in the future.

Thanks all!

B-17 "ash reciever"

Does anybody have any information on the ashtrays in the B-17? My pilot`s manual reprint shows one built into the bombardier`s panel, and two more mounted on brackets on the radio op and navigator`s table. I looked through my photo collection and don`t see them in the flying restorations, and I have...
