Re: Selling B-17 Models
Alright! Thank you!
Whenever I get around to actually making the wood models, I'll post some pictures.

Selling B-17 Models
I'm wondering if anyone here knows the answer to this question: Am I legally allowed to make and sell custom B-17 models and model kits? Not "Boeing B-17" or "Flying Fortress" just "B-17G" or "B-17F." The issue is the name/aircraft type. I'd like to use my CAD model to laser engrave small wooden sca...

Here, look at the left. It is a folder hierarchy, opened up to a specific assembly:

Re: Scratch Build of B-17G 43-38083 "Happy Valley Express"
I am. You are looking at the full assembly. The path to the cockpit enclosure is MainAssy>ForwardFuselage>CockpitEnclosure>VariantParts>SubAssemblies (such as the 4 pane windshields with rubber seal). Of course, in the actual model I use the Boeing drawing numbers. I'll post an image of the feature ...

Reorganized the main assembly, so that I have the forward and rear assemblies rather than just lumping it all into a big mess.

Eli Trying to find the mount for the load adjuster Supposed to be near the data case, but can not find anything in the IPC or SRM for the mount do you have anything on your end Dave Dave, Short answer, no. Long answer, I looked for any indication for the load adjuster in the drawings, but my sets a...

Re: Scratch Build of B-17G 43-38083 "Happy Valley Express"
Started some quick work on bulkhead 6, and added it into the assembly. The rear section is complete, but the forward half (with web, etc...) is only partial.

Planning Production of Bulkhead 3 Gussets
I'm planning to produce some of the simple gussets of bulkhead 3. Namely, I will be producing sets of 13 (quantity of 13 per set) type 21-5583 "Gusset Channel Tie" gussets. These are the standard rectangular gussets which are used to connect structural segments in bulkhead 3, which are made of BAC14...

Greybull PB4Y's - Scrap??
Heard from a friends uncle who lives near Greybull Wyoming that the PB4Ys that were converted to firefighters are being scrapped for parts by "restoration teams." Can anyone confirm? I have some negative feelings about it. First off, really it just means that parts will be taken from otherwise compl...

Kee Bird B-29
I'm sure we've all heard of Kee Bird, a sad story of why we don't have three flying B-29s. Despite the loss of the majority of her airframe, there are still wings, engines, etc... And I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get the remaining airframe fragments registered with the FAA if they aren't alre...

Re: TB-17G 42-97887 & TB-40 42-5926, or Mating Season at Eni
Why does 42-97887 not have any turrets? 42-5926 seems to be missing ball turret, can't see the top.
I'm not familiar with TB-17, but I thought the YB-40, if anything, should have extra turrets.

Added in an outboard nacelle bulkhead and mock oil tank to get some perspective on the assembly size relative to wings.
