Would look better with a brand new set of carry-through spars.
Got a new set (thank you Hang the Expense), looking for a shop to finish them.

Re: Don Brooks 2nd B17

Hmmmm... I really need to block out the window in the second picture. It spoils my pictures too. Bulkhead 3 is pretty much new construction, the bomb bay is from the Labrador plane. Ahh... So that's what they did. Looks like they drilled the shortened cockpit off of bulkhead 4, and moved it forward. Then what - splice in new stringer sections to reach back to bulkhead 4? Hmmm, I'm going to have to look closely next time I'm working on her to see what they did. That would mean t...

Now, you tell me, wouldn't you just love to walk into the Air Force Museum's convention center and see the majestic "Memphis Belle" fifteen feet in the air, in the horizontal position? Nope, not me. The sexiest airplane view in the world is a B-17 slowly taxiing away from you. It's particularly swe...

Nah, just brainstorming. A well thought-out proposal might appeal to him, since it appears that he supports unique aircraft. I can see it clearly now - a polished aluminum C model with the blue, red & white striped tail and pre-war stars. Or, If we're really dreaming - How about a Fortress I ...

... if someone had the deep pockets, the passion, and the ability to operate the airplane without major outside funding, it would be a unique and significant way to pay homage to those early Pacific war vets and show the heritage of the B-17 quite clearly. Scott, as far as I know, there's only one ...
