PB4Y-2 N6637

12-O'lock High is now on Amazon with pretty clear print (however, you can not do a screen saver) S3E02 Massacre about 6:03 into the flick is a shot of PB4Y-2 with all turrets and radar equiptment still installed - but with a civil tail marking (N6637) BuNo 66337 is a Goose so that eliminates Navy nu...

Re: B-17 Wing AD to be issued on 5/17

Scott - I hope you post a picture of one of the affected terminal ends vs 44-85790 terminal end.

Since 44-85790 has less then 100-hours from new, would be interesting to see what 80-years and several thousand flight hours has done to this assembly.

Re: 43-37746 research

So that fills in the blanks...

Still the question is these tests were done under the Department of Energy, so who had priority regarding usage and maintenance .

Re: B-17 Wing AD to be issued on 5/17

So, if my summery is close, there is no permenant repair for this problem (at this date) other then a respar. That leaves the warbird industry with the only solution which everybody has been kicking down the road for the past 40+ years - finding somebody (or the B-17 parts co-op) putting together th...

Re: Mantz Storage Photos

I think those three are Jennies based on the rigging on the outboard of each wing above the outboard struts. The wing struts and also how they mount to the area around the cockpit suggest Jenny. Interesting that two of the fuselage numbers match in both photos. However, the "U.S. Navy" markings for...

Re: Mantz Storage Photos

Do not believe those are Jennies - possibly studio mock-ups for John Waynes The Wings of Chickens (1957)

Hobbs - Double Nuts

Hobbs ship with RCL 00

What is also interesting is this crash occured in Jan 44 yet the insignia are pre-July 1943.
