The biggest hint is the late-style star insignia on the fuselage, which did not show up in the Pacific until late '43 - early '44(I think). It also looks like their might be a Rising Sun kill marker above the nav station. With what I can see of the tail number, I would presume it to be 41-9145 or 41...

Not a clue. With that said, do you have anymore B-17E pictures to share?

They look oddly familiar to the bumps on the underside of a B-17 wing.

Sorry, I only have pictures of her in the XC-108 configuration. The photo of 41-2594 was taken in Midland, TX. I'll send a full-size copy your way if you want to shoot me an email address.

Help me identify these Pacific-based B-17Es

I would love to know the serial #s of these B-17Es. Currently building a database of the 512 B-17Es that were made by Boeing, hopefully with pictures to accompany each history. Any help or any pics for that matter, is much appreciated. Avenger http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h237/WarBirdBuff/Aveng...

It looks as though the interior is painted silver. Note the lack of reflections. Can anyone verify this on early B-17s?

New images of B-17E Swamp Ghost

Found these off of msn.com. It appears that the majority of the aircraft is inside and protected from the elements, if not vandals. I hope that is the case. http://www.danitadelimont.com/pr/143353980/DanitaDelimont.com_RM_OC12_BFR0045.jpg http://www.danitadelimont.com/pr/143353980/DanitaDelimont.com...
