Dumbo

Post by Dan Johnson »

Since it's been kinda quiet around here I figured I'd add another 17 image that I got recently. Stationed at Northwest Field, Guam in support of the 315th Bomb Wing was this Dumbo. Sadly no serial number. The one behind it is 44-83789. The name by the nose art on this one appears to be "Rosie Maid"

I don't care what they stick on a B-17, when the photo is from the right angle, you just can't make her look ugly :)

The one behind it left the factory right in front of the Dyke Lake SB.

The guy selling the photos on eBay is listing them one at a time so it's been a slow process trying to get the others. This is the second one I got. This is the other Dumbo on Guam that's in the background of the first photo. So this is the one that left the factory right behind the Dyke Lake bird.

I think the well dried up, but not before a couple more photos showed up. First is another Guam image. 4 Dumbo's in the photo.
