Thistle Do It!

Post by Steve Birdsall »

Interesting one came up on eBay this week. Thistle Do It! was in the 64th Bomb Squadron, 43rd Bomb Group. Our best guess at the serial number, based mostly on a process of elimination, is 41-24383. Crashed into the Gulf of Papua on January 6, 1943. Pilot Lt Guyton Christopher and five of his crew were killed. What's under that overpainted section remains a mystery.
