U.S. Civil B-17s 1949-1955

Post by aerovin2 »

I just added a post to the Aero Vintage website about those B-17s that came to the U.S. civil register between 1949 and 1955. By my count, there were four active B-17s in later 1948, and eight active in 1955. See it here: https://www.aerovintage.com/home/blog/

Good stuff, Scott! The shot of B-17F 42-3470 was a great find - wonder what that nose art says. Unusual to see the star-and-bar not painted out.
Gotta help where I can... First, a cropped enlargement of B-17G 43-38978 at Corvallis:

Next, a clearer image of Mantz's B-17F 42-3360 from Chain Lightning:

Feel free to use 'em!
