Need Help to ID this - railroad maybe?

A marketplace of B-17 parts...where to find them, where to sell them, where to trade them, where to build them.

Need Help to ID this - railroad maybe?

Post by DryMartini »

OK. These came in a box marked "B-17".
It is steel.
It is nothing we've ever seen. Anyone have any idea?

Tag reads:
General Railway Signal Co.
Rochester, N.Y.
8672101-G1
SER 584217
MFD by Bendix Home Appliances, Inc.
South Bend, IND.

The second one is the mirror of the first, with the number:
8672101-G2

From a B-29 expert:

> Hi Bill, what you have there is a pair of ammo booster assemblies for a B-29 gun turret,
> specifically a lower turret. Yours were never fully assembled though, of course! General
> Railway Signal made a lot of turret stuff for the B-29, including complete turret systems
