Come explore the story of two great aviators and the company they created…
Paul Mantz, Frank Tallman, and the Story of Tallmantz Aviation
Here is your Gateway
Tallmantz Aviation was created in November 1962 when two exquisite aviators, Paul Mantz and Frank Tallman, joined their names, businesses, fortunes, fame, and future together. Based at Orange County Airport near Santa Ana, California, the company both enjoyed great success and suffered terrible tragedy through the succeeding years. Best known for its Hollywood movie work, the company specialized in aerial photography across several industries including government, military, and advertising. It was but a shell of its glory days by 1985 when it was sold to a new owner, who soon enough ended its days through bankruptcy. It was a sad and ignominious end to a unique company. Neither Paul Mantz nor Frank Tallman survived to see the final days of their company…both were killed in aviation accidents.
