N9494Z at the CAF Airsho at Harlingen in October 1976, showing off the reapplied name and nose art from Catch-22. It was a garishly popular scheme and the airplane looks good. It was owned by John Stokes at this point. (Scott Thompson)
N9494Z went to the U.K. in 1978 to be used in the filming of Hanover Street where it flew as Gorgeous George-Ann. This May 1978 view shows it at Bovingdon with the other four Hanover Street Mitchells. (K.R. Perks)
After Hanover Street, it fell on hard times and was stored at Blackbushe where it went steadily downhill. It eventually ended up at Sandroft in disassembled storage. (Adam Bailey)
With a bit of an identity crisis, the airplanes in storage with several layers of paint fading away. (Vincent Jacobs)
In 2006, N9494Z was rescued when it was obtained by the Belgian Air Museum and transported to a facility in Belgium. It will be restored to static display condition.
