Books and Information for the Aviation Enthusiast
There are surviving B-17 nose art panels taken from aircraft about to be scrapped or, in one case, a crash site. One, Eager Beaver, came from a B-17 at the RFC field at Altus, Oklahoma. Others came from the RFC field at Walnut Ridge. The story of the Walnut Ridge nose art panels can be found at this site and it provides some detailed information. Most of the CAF Nose Art Collection is currently displayed at the CAF Headquarters’ National Aviation Education Center at Dallas, Texas.
