Re: Can anyone identify these B-17F trainers?

http://img-cdn.filefactory.com/embed/xl/5241aebvlyok.jpg A high-resolution version of the NARA Kodachrome image of Redmond Annie turned up recently. Unfortunately, the serial number is still unclear, but I believe I can read enough of it to establish that it’s a Douglas Long Beach B-17F, serial beg...

Laredo #233: 42-102885

Was going to do an Attn shoppers on this one but it's so good I gave myself a Christmas present. B-17G trainer 42-102885; one of the small batches that bypassed Cheyenne and went straight into training. #233 on nose and tail indicate service at Laredo AAF: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5424064...

With all the QB-17s that were shot down over land, are there any crash sites that have been explored/documented?

Attn seller: You sent the wrong photo, but... (44-8095 at Keesler)

I ordered the photo of 42-102737 as Keesler, and the seller sent the wrong photo - but an interesting one nonetheless: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54159016854_1bcf12078b_h.jpg 44-8095, coded "147", formerly at Roswell as seen here: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54158710206_3c256415c3_b...

On eBay at the moment, taken at Keesler; note the 1948 insignia: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54131682919_0d12a4671d_o.png 42-102737 looks like a possible match - skipped Cheyenne, based at Avon, then to Keesler and hung around postwar: 42-102737 Del McDill 31/3/44; 326 BU McDill 13/2/45; 325...

Re: Pictorial History of B-17G "Yankee Lady"
