I've heard the rumors that the B-17 fuselage here in Greeley in the Armory Bar has been sold. While I'm not able to get inside to see if it's still there, I can tell it hasn't been removed. When the B-17 was put into the bar, they cut an opening out in the back of the bar where the B-17 was hung ins...

Bar in Greeley, CO. with B-17 fuselage is sold

The State Armory bar here in Greeley, CO. has just been sold and closed. The bar has part of a B-17 fuselage hanging in it. The ball turret was recently sold (to the Desert Rat group I believe). I don't know if there is anything else salvageable in the fuselage, but now would be a good time to try t...

I'm glad that someone that's restoring a B-17 got the turret out of the bar. I've talked to the owner of the bar in the past and I was afraid that he was not willing to let it go to someone that could use it. I was also afraid it might get damaged as that bar is a big college student hangout and the...

Mad Mad Mad Mad World was released in November 1963. Shooting of the film most likely would have been from late 1962 through 1963. Supposedly the billboard Tallman flew through was set up on approach to the Chino, CA. airport runway. This was done because of fears that once Tallman went through the ...

Anyone know what the latest status is on Doc? I haven't been able to find any news lately since Boeing took the website down.

Location of data plate on B-17

I'm trying to indentify a B-17 fuselage located near my home. Where would I find the data plate? Is there any other location the serial number would be located? The fuselage is cut off just to the rear of the ball turret. Thanks for any help.
