From cross-checking Baugher and accident-report.com, and going by the desert landscape, the two most likely candidates seem to be 38-213 on 2-26-42 and 38-218 on 2-6-42, both in Arizona. 213 must have been repaired because it was transferred to Lowry after that; 218 was written off.
A little more detail from aviationarchaeology.com:
38-213 was with the 12th RS, 39th BG; accident listed as "landing accident, structural failure", at Davis-Monthan Field, AZ.
38-218 was with the 62nd BS, 39th BG; accident listed as "forced landing, engine failure", four miles north of Milford, UT.
218 seems the more likely prospect now, except for the 29th BG designator; but the only 29th B-17B incident listed there was a taxiing accident at MacDill Field in Florida. Google Earth does show a desert scrub area north of Milford, UT with mountains to the west. Strange this plane would be a write-off with so little apparent damage, though.
