The end of B-17E 41-2592

Post by Chris Brame »

I just found these photos in the Portal to Texas History archive. Aviation Archaeology lists this as GDF (Ground Accident Destroyed by Fire) on February 22, 1943 at Pyote AAB in Texas. 592 was assigned to the 30th BS, 19th BG.

Chris, thanks for posting these unseen photos. Puts an image to dry words on paper.

Thanks for posting these fine, but sad photos, of one of our beloved B-17's. It makes you wonder, what could have caused such an accident?
