Well worth the wait.

That glimpse of 41-2499 at Hendricks is a gem . . . hard to document those aircraft but 41-2499 was in Allahabad, India with the 7th Bomb Group on 28 April 1942. It's reasonable to assume that the fresh-looking radio call number 12499 replaced the large plane-in-squadron numbers that had been applied to these planes in September 1942.

According to the record card this one returned to the U.S. 14 June 1943 and went to Hendricks. Involved in a ground accident at Hamilton Field in October but repaired and went to Kelly Field and Kingman, then finally salvaged at Albuquerque.

Lots of gaps in the story that I wish I could fill.

I trust you gents noticed the interior shots of that modified MTO B-17 that were also listed on eBay?
