"Caught In The Draft" B-17F

Post by Second Air Force »

Hi, all.

I have a question/request of y'all--I was at McCook, Nebraska at our airbase get-together last weekend and one of our members quizzed me about a Fortress known as "Caught in the Draft". Supposedly (all this info is still rather sketchy to me....) this airplane was utilized as a trainer at McCook during the time that B-29s were in Phase Training there. I've found a couple of photos of an F in England carrying the right name, but I've got no serial number or aircraft records to tie this machine to my quest.

If anyone has any idea about a serial number, I'd be greatly in your debt!
