Another eBay find; a tiny (1 3/4" x 2 1/4") photo, printed backwards which I fixed:

Thought it might be a trainer until I checked the serial, which looks like 42-29780 or 90; the latter was salvaged overseas but '80, according to Dave Osborne, was General Curtis LeMay's personal aircraft:

42-29780 Del Denver 17/2/43; Gore 8/3/43; Gulfport 31/3/43; Ass 334BS/95BG [BG-P] Alconbury 5/4/43; 335BS [OE-P]; 6m, tran 92BG Alconbury 12/6/43 but switched to 3BD HQ as hack for Curtis Le May; RetUS Grenier 26/12/44; Patterson 28/4/45; RFC Walnut Ridge 5/1/46. (first NMF a/c in 8AF). SILVER QUEEN.

Aha! Looks like there's a marking on the fin that's not in my shot (a 3 in a square for 3BD?).
