Another trainer from eBay: 42-5267

Note the GI or G1 - or 31? tail code and earlier star; per Osborne this was based at "Glasgow 7/12/42; Gt Falls 4/2/43; Tinker 12/7/43; Dalhart 18/8/43". Is that a T for Tinker below the serial?

Sadly lost in a fatal crash on October 24, 1944 near Russell, KS while with the 248th Base Unit at Walker AAF; Osborne lists the pilot as Fred Swank while AAIR says it was Charles E. Gibson, Jr.

From the insignia, you are looking at pre-summer 1943 so Tinker is out of the question (more later)

Glasgow AAF was a sub-field for Great Falls, so it is possible looking at a 2nd BG (96th BS), 385th BG, or 390th BG.

Tinker AAF was strictly a major overhaul and repair facility so it would not have its own station letter.

Upper looks like the number 31 with the serial number underlined
