Collings/ex-Evergreen B-17 Getting Ready to Fly Again

Post by aerovin2 »

They are close to flying N207EV at McMinnville, Oregon. The long dormant B-17G, purchased by Collings after Evergreen's financial debacle, is being readied for a ferry flight to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, by American Aero. Expect that flight, or at least a test flight, next week. It will be ferried and then go into a period of heavy maintenance to, among other things, comply with the B-17 wing AD. After that, expect it to be placed on the Collings Wings of Freedom tour in place of N93012, Nine-O-Nine so that airplane can receive some restorative work and maintenance.
