Something I just noticed

Post by DryMartini »

I was looking at the pictures of the Ruby, Alaska B-17F

Notice anything?

No?

Where did the longerons go?
There should be 6 longeron pieces,
2 around the 10 and 2 O'Clock position,
and 2 pairs at the 5 and 7 O'Clock position.

They probably figured that, since it wasn't going to be used on any flyable aircraft there was no point in spending the money to have them made. :?

You are probably right Dik but why go to the trouble to rebuild it if a person is not going to do it right.Just seems a waste of time to me.Had it been done correctly and airworthy I believe it would be worth a whole lot of money and a time saver for someones B-17 project.
