Researching some specific B-17's that flew out of Ridgewell

Post by 1BigBird »

Hey Folks, I am writing the true story of a Belly Turret Gunner who flew 35 missions out of Ridgewell with the 533rd Squadron, 8th Air Force, 381st Bomb Group. Bob flew in many different B-17s during his tour (numbers and some names listed below). The Ridgewell Air museum has been very helpful and I have quite a few photos from Bob and others but I am still sourcing material. So if you have any photos or information about any of these B17s listed below and would like to help out, please send them along to billcullen.author@gmail.com. Like many (or all) of the men who flew and fought on B-17s, Bob has a fascinating story to tell and we look forward to sharing it. Bob will turn 95 in a few days and he and I continue to discuss his time stationed in Ridgewell (First Mission June 28th 1944 and 35th mission (last) on December 28th, 1944). Thanks, Bill
