something new -- trying to confirm my observation
Finding that the 301st BG / 419th BS AZON modified B-17's did not carry group or squadron markings.
Normally, a ship assigned to the 301st BG / 419th BS would be marked ( Square-Y )( Circle-4 )
Have seen videos of several of these ships (July 1944) and they are unmarked.
42-32103 & 42-32107 went MIA 1-2 weeks after these picture taken, both on ops since April 1944
other AZON ships 42-32100, 42-32104, 42-32105, 42-32108.
Can anybody prove this theory wrong...
