There is a privately owned, full scale, P6E replica. It even has the right engine for the type, I believe it's the "Conqueror".

How about a Bell FM-1 Airacuda? That must have looked like something from outer space when it was built in the late '30s.

Dik is right.They called him the hawkman.I think it might be on display at EAA.It was quite a long build but it was beautiful and i dont think it has ever flown.

I've also always liked the Curtiss F11C and the Boeing P-12/F4B-4.

In fact, if anybody's interested, this is currently on eBay.

Another one that would be nice to see, and maybe not all that hard to do (think Beech 18

), would be a Grumman F5F.
