Just Added Some Stuff

Post by aerovin2 »

Just added two new posts to the Aero Vintage pages:

An update on what's going on at Asheville with Ray Moore rebuilding the aft section of B-17G Liberty Belle (44-85734)

And, an article about the early Sperry remote turrets as installed on the B-17E:

I believe the upper turret on the B-24 was a Martin 250CE-15 not Bendix

Interestingly, the Tech Order does not mention the radio room gun.

Radio Room gun was removed after block 70 BO's - pretty much useless a defensive position

The tech order was for the B-17E, not the B-17G.

He might have meant the tech order excerpt in the posting on the B-17E. It may have been on the next page that was not included in the post. Interesting section of the tech order. I'll have a look around to see if I can find the entire paragraph on Gunnery Equipment for the B-17E.
