A-26 regulations

Can anyone clarify the regulations regarding single pilot operation of the A-26?

I don't really know about any special regulations regarding the A-26, but the majority of the 26s I've been around were only single pilot aircraft. In fact, very few were even configured as dual-pilot, and most of those were used for training.

Does the type data certificate specify it as single pilot?

I would think so, but you can check with the F. A. A.

It would take a major modification to make one into a pilot/co-pilot configuration and since they've been flying for years as single pilot aircraft, I imagine that the Type Certificate is for that configuration.

The operating limitations contained in the LTC does not specify the number of required pilots (see the Type Data Sheet here: http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_an ... light=army) but it rather requires the airplane to be operated IAW the military AN-01-40AJ-1 and -5. Since the USAF Invaders were single pilot aircraft I would think the -1 specifies that as such, and therefore the FAA authorizes the civil Invaders operating under the limited certificate to be operated that way also
