"Last Roll Call" adventure of B-17 Tail gunner

Post by wtuckergoodwin »

I recently had the honor of co-authoring, with my 84 year old father, probably one of the last memoirs of WWII. Sgt. Kenneth S.Tucker was a tail gunner on a B-17 with the 15th AF out of Amendola, Italy. We self published the book "Last Roll Call" in November of '09 and have both been amazed at how well the book has been received. It has proven to be a quick, easy read that has been enjoyed by folks of all ages. We were both thrilled when one of our local high school teachers purchased a class set to use as a supplement to her American History text book. It is not for the hard core WWII readers because it is more of a personal account of my dad's relationship with his crew as they struggled to survive over the deadly skies of Europe. The book is my father's personal tribute to his crew and to the beloved B-17. Visit my dad's website at http://www.lastrollcall.net if you are interested at taking a look at the book, viewing historical and recent pictures or to see what people are saying about the book. A visit to the site is a history lesson in itself.
