We're on a Second Air Force airfield research trip this week and I ran onto this photo at Scottsbluff. During the late '42 to mid '44 timeframe Scottsbluff served as a satellite field of Casper Army Air Field with B-17s and B-24s at different times. I have no other information to go on with this photo, but we'd appreciate any ideas as to the identity of this Fortress training ship.
Any help would be appreciated!

The Virginian
Re: The Virginian
According to Foreman's B-17 nose art book The Virginian (if it is indeed the same ac) was part of the 385BG.
Good Luck with your research.
