'On November 18, 1943, a United States Army Air Corps, A-20-G, twin engined attack bomber crashed near Rockton, pa. This new plane was on a ferry flight from the Douglas' long Beach, Ca., aircraft factory to Newark, New Jersey."
This is the lead in from a book that I have just published titled, " Rockton's 43-9228, Details of a WWII Plane Crash". This is a systematic review of the events, the plane, the route, the pilot, the MACR, and the two year investigation leading up to interviews with eyewitnesses, finding the crash site, and recovered parts identification. The book serves to document and perserve information about this local WWII military event for future interest.
The town of Rockton is located about three miles southeast of DuBois, Pa., on Rt 322.
This 8 1/2 x 11, 56 page book is available locally at the Book Nook in Clarion, Pa, and Steeples Furniture (814-583-7632) in Rockton, Pa. as well as on EBay and thru myself.
