Air Force?

OK, so we think we have identified the "Mary Ann", what about the the B-17 that crashes in the surf at the end of the movie? Any ideas which one it might be, or better yet, where was it and is it still there?

It's a very large miniature (looks very good at first, but the tail is a bit misshapen).

Wow! I would have never guessed that. To my then 10 year old, and now my sixty year old eyes, it looked real. I'll have to go back and watch it again, and slow it down for the more details. Thanks for setting me straight. The things you learn on this great Web-site.
