I was at the Air Force Museum er National Museum of the Air Force recently, and I was wondering does anyone know the exact location of where the Model 299 burned? I think this would be a neat fact to point out. Thanks, Jason

If I can locate it, I have a photo of the first Y1B-17 (s/n 36-149) flying over Wright Field and in the background you can see a light spot in the grass. I'm pretty sure it's that spot where the Model 299 crashed and burned as 36-149 arrived at Wright only about 18 months after the crash.
