Harley Russel Stroven 1st LT, Armaments Officer, USAAF, 8th Air Force, 486th Bomb Group, 835th Bomb Squadron, Sudbury, England, Station 174. Harley R. Stroven filmed an 8 mm color movie 52 minutes long, to which he added narration 38 years later, showing what life was like for him in the 8th AF, 486th BG, 835th BS during World War II. He filmed the Sudbury air base, the local farms and communities, London, loading bombs, a mission to Brest, France, a trip to Paris after the war, flying home across the Atlantic and other topics. His narration and 8 mm film created an educational and permanent record of his time in service and a lasting legacy.
