At long last Larry Hickey's history of the 43rd Bomb Group is being published and will ship next month. I am one of the associate authors but I have no financial interest in the book.

I think anyone interested in the B-17 operations in the Southwest Pacific will find this one interesting. You can get some idea of the scope of the book at http://irandpcorp.com/products/43bg1/

What a tragedy the story of that book is. Too many vets missed out with all the delays sad to say. Wish Hickey had followed through earlier.

I'm sure it's a wonderful book and I'll probably get it, but I remember it was supposed to be done back in the mid 90s when the guys were still with us.I had a buddy whose grandfather was CO of the 63rd in 24s, Brownfield was the last name if memory serves. I've since lost contact but he really wanted to see it to learn the story of the grandpa he never knew.

Found the name on the Kensmen website. Albert Brownfield.

I took this image that's on the Kensmen website back in the late 90s when I found his grave at Arlington and got the image for the grandson.

I'd like to see one on the 19th BG, inception to 1942.

Got mine yesterday, April 2. Was mailed March 29. Very pleased and is of the usual high standard put out by Hickey, et al. I do have to echo the earlier comment and hope that Part II is not 10 years in the future. Looking forward to the next installment. Congrats to all involved.
