Nothing too exciting but a nice view of 3 B-17Es in flight. A quick look suggests 190 stayed in the US but 074 and 076 ended up in England.

I saw that one as well; wonder about the markings under the serials? Morse code V for Victory I guess, but who added them?
From the serials I would guess this was taken somewhere around Boise between April 21 and May 12, 1942.

41-9076, piloted by Lt William S. Raper, was one of eight 303rd Bomb Group B-17Es that were rushed to Midway in May 1942. Raper returned to the 303rd and went to England with them, but 41-9076 stayed in Hawaii.

In July 1942 it went to the New Hebrides with the 26th Bomb Squadron of the 11th Bomb Group and it was scrapped after a no-brakes landing on Espiritu Santo on 23 October 1942.

I believe its vertical tail section ended up on 41-2433, but I haven’t yet been able to prove it conclusively.
