Found this one labeled as a B-24. It has the Hendricks Field look with the large number on the nose. Boring I suppose but I love the look anyway. On the back it says it's an Official Photo USAAF taken May 9, 1944 at Cochran Field, Georgia.
Seems a bit late for an E but what do I know

Two other B-17E's have shown-up (or the top one might be a B-17F with an modified, reframed nose)
One might be of interest to Steve

Good stuff! There was a discussion about
Ready Teddy on WIX (scroll down):

The last one stands out because of that O-47; I didn't think any of those made it to Australia. The tail markings seem to indicate the 104th Observation Squadron which was at Detrick, MD and then Atlantic City, NJ around '41-'42. So why all the RAAF gas drums?

Chris, that O-47 was assigned to the Southern Bomber Command (later 435th Bomb Squadron) at Townsville, Australia on 28 February 1942. As you say, its markings indicate 104th Observation Squadron, aircraft number 12. It was provided as a "runabout" but I don't really know much about it.

Ah. No record of the serial?
