42-3208 was a Hobbs plane, but it would have been painted O/D and gray. This looks like a NMF G-model; there's one more digit after the 8 (possibly a 7?). All the 42-32080 through 9 planes went into combat, so this one is probably at one of the bases it passed through on its way overseas.

ETA: Could this be 42-32085 at Great Falls? The plane in the foreground is 42-6001; check out these two listings:

The dates seem to line up. It would be sometime in the week between January 25th and February 2, 1944.

Both photos must have been taken at nearly the same time; the two ground crewmen are in different poses but everything else matches.

the 1452 tail number shows this is taken at MacDill - the four digit 14 number started after 1 Jan 44 and ended in April 1944 when they went to the Alpha / Numeric sequence

Wonder if it is 42-32060 series

wonder ???
