Scott gave me a challenge -- said his list on B-25's did not include any B-25D modified to F-10D standard

now he knows I love a challenge -- so here is the Air Force Museum's F-10D before she was converted to B-25B.

Well, just to clarify a bit: my contention was, and is, that the ten B-25Ds that were converted for the photo mission were redesignated as just F-10s, more exactly F-10-NK, with no suffix letter. This is based on John Andrade's mostly definitive U.S. Military Aircraft Designations and Serials.

James Fahey's exposition says the same thing.

Thus, not F-10D. So, the NMUSAF display aircraft (43-3374) went from B-25D to F-10 to RB-25D. Perhaps a record card can be definitive but, alas, I don't have it. Just my 2 cents.

I do not think these guys even know -- for example the accident report for 41-29885 has her listed as a F-10C-NA (16 December 1944) (next to bottom line)

If anything, she would be a Kansas City (NC) aircraft.

Accident report has her ID's three ways to Sunday - B-24D, F-10, F-10C-NA......

Mind if I play too.

Found this photo a while ago of an F-10D RB-373

And if you look close, in the background is RB-374, the USAFM B-25
