This one popped on eBay a bit ago and I was able to get it. i was intrigued by the camera set up in the nose. hadn't seen one like this. As always, I'm open to any thoughts and education on this particular bird.

No idea where it was taken. First thought is North Africa based on the uniforms of the RAAF officers in front. Also noticed the outline to the star on the fuselage and first impression is it's the yellow outline from that time.

That's 41-24438, one of the B-17Fs modified at Fairfield Air Depot. It was assigned to the 15th Photographic Mapping Squadron, 3rd Photographic Reconnaissance and Mapping Group. Went to England in October 1942 then to North Africa the following month. Returned to the U.S. in August 1944.

A sister ship to the well-known 41-24440, I Got Spurs.
