WWII Airplane Debris Found In San Jose.

Dear Members,




Is it possible that you can help me with a question about a registration of an airplane named a Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless, VB-18 Sqn.?
The was discovered by a construction crew near the Pajaro River in north
Monterey County,CA.
The plane crashed during a nighttime mission, the plane stationned by a naval air base in the Central Valley.
I hope you can help me with these question.

I remembered reading about this a year and a half ago. I, too was curious about the Bu. #. I found this information tonight on the J. Baugher site. This is the information:

28850 crashed near Watsonville, CA Jan 14, 1944, killing the two crew members. A work crew unearthed the wreckage Jul 11, 2007.
