well I guess all the book regarding this aircraft returning in June 1944 are wrong.
Was assigned to the 6th Ferry before it was involved in a ground accident at Tinker AAF in March 1944

That was one of the seven 19th Bomb Group B-17Es spruced up in Hawaii and reassigned to the 394th Bomb Squadron, where it became Bill Ivey’s Poison Ivey. I have it as returning to the U.S. in January 1944.
