I visited the Smithsonian Museum of American History this past weekend (aswell as the A&S and U-H center, pics over on WIX)...
Anyway... There was a late model B-17 tailturret on display. Anyone have any more info on it?
Does this turret belong to the B-17 that was just moved from NASM storage to the Mighty Eight Museum?
Edit: Wixer Gary Anderson confirmed that this tail section belongs to the Savannah plane.
