Question for those experts on the Douglas ships.
You have the AAF serial, the Douglas serial number and what looks to be a Douglas line number.
Is this the correct term - line number ?
For 42-106984 I have a photo with Line number: 1101 - would the rest of the G-35 follow this sequence ?

Yes, the Douglas airplanes were marked in the factory with sequential fuselage numbers for all the B-17 production. Different than the msn.

First N/M Lockheed ship ( 42-97536) was delivered on 15 December 1943
First N/M Boeing (42-32045) was delivered on 15 January 1944
First N/M Douglas ship (42-106984) was delivered on 18 January 1944
Pretty sure the first bare metal B-17G to be received in a combat theatre was 42-97537 on 1 February 1944 (there was a whole bunch received on 2 February, but 537 was the first).
