Does anybody know what was the final disposition of the Model 299 wreckage?

The aft fuselage was supposedly used in a training function for some time at Wright Field, Tony. The story I've always heard is that the remains were eventually buried somewhere on the airfield property. I don't know if that means the burned out portions were buried or that the aft section was buried, or if the whole thing ended up underground. It's interesting that there is a chance that parts of both the 299 and XB-15 were buried and may still exist......
