Upside down?
Upside down?
I just finished reading an article about the fire bombing of Japan where it stated that the rising heat (thermals) actually caused some of the B-29's to invert and were turned upside down. I also had read on the bombing of Dresden , Germany this happened to some B-17's as well. My question is , how hard is it to correct this , and did many of these planes survive? Not being a pilot this seems like a tough bit of flying to me , especialy in a big bomber, when you may or not be strapped in.
Re: Upside down?
wasn't the night time bombing of Dresden carried out by the British?
