I live not far from New Albany Ohio. There was a wartime crash of a B-17C in New Albany and there was a letter to the local paper asking for details for the Historical Society. I live in Newark Ohio, and we had a Crash of a B-25 about 4 blocks from where I live. I know from conversations with the retired town Engineer that the AAF just left most of it for the City to clean up. And it was taken to a local land fill and dumped. I have tried for years to obtain the location but he does not want the liablity of having people dig it up.
The point is that if the AAF left the B-25 in Newark, at at least most of it ( and he does have parts of it on his shelf to back up his story), then might not they have done the same? And if so, there exist the possiblity of obtaining a data plate and or parts for patterns. I know it is probably nothing, but thought I would share on the off chance it would come in useful.
