Eager Beaver placard at Mighty Eighth Museum - wrong??

Post by Chris Brame »

Scroll down to the next-to-last post here; wasn't Eager Beaver scrapped circa 1954, not 1980? Where did the museum get that info?

The October 2006 B-17 News entry notes that one correspondent reported it was scrapped in 1954. I don't think it survived the 1950s in any event; it never appeared on any 'survivors' listing.

WOW!! You would think someone would have double checked this information BEFORE they printed it up for the sign in of all places the Eighth Air Force Museum. It is funny though that further up on the page they are asking "Where's Scott Thompson", if they had only checked with you first.
